South Townsville
Project: Full Home Renovation of an old Queenslander home
Location: South Townsville QLD Timeframe: 12 weeks
This South Townsville project was extra special to clients Rachel and Andrew as it was the home that Rachel grew up in. This area of TSV is renowned for it's old miner cottages and Queenslanders and this one was a beauty that was just in need of some good old TCL... enter TCNQ. Our brief... blending old with new. Restore this old beauty while adding some open plan spaces and increasing it’s functionality whilst keeping the QLDer charm.
TCNQ, alongside with our amazing team of sub-contractors got started on this full home reno....
We extended to the front of the house with adding a full length open front veranda and double bay carport.
Extended the back of the house and also added a larger kitchen fully refitted with a butlers pantry
Added a large laundry.
Removed internal walls to create a spacious open living and dining area
Added new walls and 3 new bathrooms (one for each bedroom)
VJ panelling was used to create the feel of the old and externally, wooden chamfer board was used to keep in check with the colonial look
TCNQ also installed 80 new wall frames, new windows, doors and colonial features
The mix of old and new is stunning in this transformation and the flow of the house is something else.
